3rd GNLU & BPRD Police Training Programme for Gujarat State Police Officers (5-9 June, 2010)

GNLU concludes the third training session, in collaboration with the BPRD, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the Police Academy, Gujarat, on the subject of Latest Rulings with Regards to Criminal Law for the State Police Officers of the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police to SHOs/Inspectors of Police on 9th June 2010.

The training was imparted in form of lectures, group discussion and presentations made by Hon’ble Mr Justice K.S. Jhaveri, High Court of Gujarat; Mr S.H. Vora, Special Judge, Designated Court for speedy trial of riot cases; Ms Manisha Lavkumar Shah, Assistant Government Pleader & Additional Public Prosecutor; Advocates Dr Amee Yajnik,  Ms Bhavna Joshipura, Mr Piyush Lakhani & Ms Shailaja Pillai; Academicians Dr Kiran Gardner, Dr K.P. Malik & Mr Ravindra Singh; Dr Ravi Bhise, Expert on Forensic Medicine.

At the conclusion of the programme Ms Sudha Pande, Assistant Director, Gujarat Police Academy, Karai  addressed the police inspectors and police sub-inspectors and emphasized upon the need of the training programme to the police officers. Mr Anant Deogaonkar and Ms Soma Bhattacharjya, Programme Coordinators and Assistant Professors of Law at the GNLU, successfully coordinated the third session. The training programme, funded by the BPRD, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India,  will provide the training on the above subject to all police inspectors and police sub-inspector level officers of the whole state, in collaboration with the Police Academy of Gujarat.
