Debating Society
With increased participation each semester, the Debating Society (Debsoc) is one of the most active clubs in the University. Reputed for bringing in the popular style of Parliamentary Debating, which is the most widely acknowledged style among the law schools; the Debsoc has created a vibrant enthusiasm among the students to speak out and cast away their inhibitions. The Club conducts Orientation Sessions at the beginning of each semester and holds weekly debates. The Club is also in charge of allocating inter-collegiate debates to the participants on a merit-basis.
Debsoc has created a forum where students can indulge in a healthy interactive session with their peers and at the same time allows each student to voice their respective opinions on any topic. As far as including the subject of law goes, the club advocates a healthy mix of understanding of law and politically charged issues to bring out the best of the debating aspirants.
The members of the club also help in training of the participants in adjudication of debates. With debates being conducted regularly in the University for the students, the club has produced many excellent debaters and adjudicators, who continue to put GNLU on the debating map.
