ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR NRI/NRI SPONSORED CATEGORY/ J & K RESIDENTS/ NORTH EAST INDIA CATEGORY (LL.B. & LL.M Programmes)

Applications are invited for Admission under the NRI/NRI Sponsored Category (LL.B. & LL.M Programmes)

Candidates appearing the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)-2017 satisfying the eligibility criterions and interested in seeking admission under the NRI category at GNLU in the LL.B. & LL.M Programmes fulfilling any one of the below mentioned conditions shall apply directly by sending the Expression of Interest by filling the Admission Form {Click} by 2nd June, 2017 (05:00 pm):

  • At least one of the parents of such candidate shall be a Non Resident Indian and shall ordinarily be residing abroad as Non Resident Indian;

OR
  • The person who sponsors the candidate for admission shall be a first degree relation of the candidate and shall be ordinarily residing abroad as a Non Resident Indian;

OR
  • If the candidate has no parents or near relatives or has been taken as a ward by some other nearest relative, such candidates may also be considered for admission under the NRI category provided the guardian has bonafidely treated the candidate as a ward and such guardian shall file and an affidavit indicating the interest shown in the education affairs of the candidate and also his/her relationship with the candidate and such person also shall be Non Resident Indian and ordinarily residing abroad.

OR
  • The Person of Indian Origin and Overseas Citizens of India Card holders are eligible for admission under the NRI seats available at GNLU.

The seats under the NRI Category (LL.B. & LL.M) shall be filled by GNLU directly from the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)-2017 merit list. The candidates securing minimum 40% of the highest score of the CLAT-2017 shall only be considered eligible for admission under this category. For example: If the CLAT highest score is 150, then the candidates securing minimum of 60 marks or above only shall be considered eligible for admission under NRI Category.

The hard copy of the filled-in Admission Form shall be sent to the University by post so as to receive it latest by 6th June, 2017 (05:00 pm), after submitting the Admission Form electronically. The University shall not be responsible for any electronic or postal delay. The attested photocopies of all the documents (attested by a Gazetted Officer not related to the candidate)/notarized copies of all the documents shall also be sent along with the hardcopy of the Admission Form via post.

Application Fee: INR 10,000/- (non-refundable) shall be sent along with the hardcopy of the Admission Form in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of the Gujarat National Law University payable at Ahmedabad.

Applications are invited for Admission under Foreign National category (LL.B. & LL.M. Programmes)

  • Candidates seeking admission under Foreign National category can apply directly to GNLU and need not undergo the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
  • Eligibility Criteria for admission to LL.B. Programme:
    • Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with the minimum of 45% marks.
    • Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2017 are also eligible to apply.
  • Eligibility Criteria for admission to LL.M. Programme:
    • LL.B. or equivalent degree in law examination with a minimum of 55% marks.
    • Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2017.

Note: The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

  • Eligible candidates shall apply directly by sending the Expression of Interest by filling the Admission Form {Click} by 2nd June, 2017 (05:00 pm).
  • The hard copy of the Admission Form shall be sent to the University by post so as to receive it latest by 06th June, 2017 (05:00 pm), after submitting the Admission Form electronically. The University shall not be responsible for any electronic or postal delay. The attested photocopies of all the documents (attested by a Gazetted Officer not related to the candidate)/notarized copies of all the documents shall also be sent along with the hardcopy of the Admission Form via post.

Applications are invited for Admission under J & K Residents and North East India category (LL.B. and LL.M. Programmes)

  • Candidates appearing the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)-2017 satisfying the eligibility criterions and interested in seeking admission under the J & K Residents and North East India category at GNLU in the Under-Graduate & Post-Graduate Programmes shall apply directly by sending the Expression of Interest by filling the Admission Form {Click} by 2nd June, 2017 (05:00 pm).
  • The hard copy of the Admission Form shall be sent to the University by post so as to receive it latest by 06th June, 2017 (05:00 pm) after submitting the Admission Form electronically. The University shall not be responsible for any electronic or postal delay. The attested photocopies of all the documents (attested by a Gazetted Officer not related to the candidate)/notarized copies of all the documents including relevant certificate indicating your eligibility for admission under the category, shall also be sent along with the hardcopy of the Admission Form via post.
  • Application Fee: INR 1,000/- (non-refundable) shall be sent alongwith the hardcopy of the Admission Form in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of the Gujarat National Law University payable at Ahmedabad.

General Instructions:

1) The candidates seeking admission under the NRI/Foreign National category shall also bring the filled-in additional documents listed below at the time of admission based on the Merit List published by the University:

  • If the Board/University from which the candidate has passed his/her qualifying examination has awarded marks in grade system, the mark sheet must contain the conversion formula used for converting marks into grade and vice-versa.
  • The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from a country other than India are required to submit a certificate from the Indian Embassy/Indian Consulate or the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, stating that the examination passed by the candidate is equivalent to the qualifying examination prescribed by various boards in India.

2) No transfer of candidates once admitted under this category to any another category is permitted at GNLU.
3) Application will be automatically rejected if any candidate is found using illegal practice or trying to influence the University officials for the admission in any way.
4) Candidates seeking admission under the Foreign National or NRI category must remit their fees through the Foreign/NRI/NRE account only.
5) All queries and information shall be sent in WRITING to the admission@gnlu.ac.in only and only this will be admitted for all official purposes.
